14th NRHC Recommendation

The disconnect between clinical guidelines for remote practitioners across Territories and States does not enable a mobile health workforce to provide consistent, quality and evidenced based care across borders.
Considerable time, money and effort could be saved by avoiding duplicate processes and procedures.
Recommend that the Primary Clinical Care Manual (PCCM) and the Central Australian Rural Practitioners Association (CARPA) Manuals be aligned and developed under the governance of a combined editorial committee made up of expert clinicians and legislators. To commence in time for the 11th edition PCCM and 8th edition CARPA as the 1st Edition Australian Rural and Remote Clinical Care Manual and suite of support resources.
